Heritage Operations Processing System

Back to System Components
Contact lists are maintained for the railway as a whole, and individual departments.

Users can set the level of security they require on their contact details:
- Visible only to railway managers for operating purposes
- Visible to other members of the user's departments
- Visible to other members of the same railway
(There is no crossover between railways.)

Identification of who users are considered 'railway managers for operating purposes' is determined by permissions.
HOPS is ideal for storing staff contact details.

The system can be configured to store any combination of the following:

- Addresses
- Email addresses
- Telephone numbers
- Dates of Birth
- Emergency Contact / Next of Kin Information
- Medical Details/Restrictions / Medication
- Job Title
- Any other custom field required by railways, ie, membership number, expiry, etc.
Users can view and edit their own contact details, and railway managers can also be allocated permissions to view/edit the details of users in their area.

There has never been an easier and simpler way for heritage railways to maintain their staff address list.
Contact Detail data can be exported in un-marked-up format from HOPS for use in other programs for local analysis or processing using the Reports & Export functions.
Contact details can also be retrieved for export in CSV format.

HOPS is continually being developed and updated. Sometimes the screen shots in these help files might lag behind the most up-to-date views of the screens. Generally, however, the functionality of the page will be the same, albeit with a slightly different format or layout.

Thank you very much indeed to Emma Patrick for writing these support pages.
