Tilley Lamps

Introduction

In a destructive break-in on 14 April, two restored Tilley paraffin pressure lamps were stolen, along with a quantity of tools and spare parts.
(1) Tilley OL50 hanging lamp with distinctive non-original wall hanging bracket.
(2) Tilley FL6 floodlight with non-original home-made tubular stand.

Description

Condition:	Both in restored and operational condition.
Period / Age:	(1) OL50 - ca. 1935 (2) FL6 - 1940s
Original Company:	(1) OL50 - Ballinluig Station, Highland Railway (2) FL6 - no specific railway company provenance
Colour:	Both black
Features:	(1) OL50 - fixings to shade have been modified during restoration. Deep dent in fuel tank near filler cap. Wall-mounting bracket is non-Tilley and unique. (2) FL6 - stand is home-made from copper tubing. Fuel tank has 21 small soldered-up pinholes in top.
