Turn Reminder Emails

Reminder e-mails can be sent to users automatically to remind them of their upcoming turns.

Permission 136 must be assigned to the user (or a group that the user belongs to, ie, 'All Live Users') in order for the user to receive reminder e-mails.

The telephone number for short-notice issues in the e-mail can be configured on several levels.

A default number will be set for the railway (visible in System > Railway Details), and also whether departments can deviate from the Railway default. If departments are not permitted to deviate from the default, all turn reminder e-mails will have the same, railway-wide, contact number on.

If departments are permitted to deviate from the railway default then department-specific contact details can be saved in Departments > (Department) > Edit, and position-specific contact details can be saved in Departments > Positions > Edit.

The number shown in the e-mail will be that saved at the lowest level.

If a department-specific contact number is saved this will override the railway default.

If a position-specific contact number is saved this will override the railway default and the department default.

If no position-specific contact number is saved the department default will be used.

If no department-specific contact number is saved the railway default will be used.

HOPS is continually being developed and updated. Sometimes the screen shots in these help files might lag behind the most up-to-date views of the screens. Generally, however, the functionality of the page will be the same, albeit with a slightly different format or layout.
