Default Competence Length
| The Default Competence Length is the length of time that HOPS will suggest the competence is valid for when it is first entered. |

If it is set to 2 years, for a competence entered today it will suggest that the expiry date for the competence is two years from today.
In a department where competences are valid for two years, if anyone manages to go more than two years without their competence being updated (ie, doing their rules) their competence will expire. |

| The expiry date can normally be changed to anything, the 'default' is only... the default! However, in the department settings it is possible to allow or disallow deviations from the default competence length. |
